The 8-bay driving range at Bentham Golf Course is a great addition to the excellent facilities here and the contactless payment system means you can practise anytime to suit you, even outside the opening times of the shop and 1922 Bar & Kitchen.
The Range
Close to Lancaster, Kendal and Skipton, during daylight hours it offers a practice facility for members, visitors and golfers of all ages* and abilities.
We provide the most accurate practice balls; 100% distance, Srixon two-piece golf balls.
As well as 100, 150 and 200 distance markers there are target zones to help practice your lofted and chip shots. To keep you on your mettle, look out for the surprise targets that feature throughout the year.
*Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Opening Hours
Open 7 days a week, the range offers a great facility to hone your skills any day to suit you, regardless of the Yorkshire weather.
Payment for a bucket of balls can now be made by contactless card so you’re welcome to use the range a time convenient to you, without the need to buy tokens when the Golf Shop is open.
Please note: The Driving Range is closed until 11am every Monday & Thursday for ball collection and mowing.

Sign-up to our new loyalty system with SumUp Goodies and earn points when you spend (tokens must be purchased in the golf shop to qualify). Enquire in the golf shop for more details.
If you need to hire clubs or must use tokens because you can’t pay contactlessly then the golf shop is open 7 days a week but opening times do vary seasonally.

If you can’t pay by contactless payment but wish to use the range outside of these opening times, it is also possible to call ahead and order tokens to collect outside of these opening times using our token safes. Tokens would have to be paid for by card over the phone and we’ll leave them in one of two safes, giving you an access code at the time of ordering.
Club Hire
We also have clubs available to borrow for all ages, but these must be borrowed during the shop opening hours.
We also do take a deposit (such as car keys or a debit card) in exchange for short term loan of the clubs whilst you’re on the range.
